Praying for An Opportunity

One of our neighbors are PCSing to Washington State in less than a month. They are great people! This week as I was cleaning my house, I found myself praying and asking the Lord to please send us some 'easy' neighbors. Some.... you know, that are already saved.  Then it was like the Holy Spirit put His hand on my shoulder and said 'wait a minute'. That's when it hit me. How SELFISH, Tamika!  So, I changed my prayer. Lord, send someone that DOESN'T KNOW YOU.

I mean shouldn't that be all of our prayers, for those of us who know the Jesus as Lord and Savior? We have been given this GREAT commission to go and make disciples. Not sit or live our lives asking the Lord to serve us. He ALREADY has.~ I love a good deal. I love FREE stuff. If there are Horizon coupons at the Commissary, I am all over it and I am telling others about it too. How much more should I be sharing with others about a more important FREE DEAL. This awesome deal of Love and Salvation!

So now, my prayer has changed. I am now praying for OPPORUNITIES! I want to do as Jesus did ~Serve~ not look to be served. For those who are wandering in the wilderness,  want them to know I have Thee Compass!

What if we all prayed that the Lord would send us people who didn't know Him, yet? What would our world look like if we were really serving, instead of looking to be served.(looking for a break, to have a 'easy season') Jesus took advantage of His OPPORTUNITY and boy, am I glad. He has made me glad, He has made me Glad, you Hear me?

Someone did NOT miss their OPPORTUNITY with sharing this awesome deal of salvation with me nor my husband. I am so greatful. We have not missed the OPPORTUNITY in sharing with our OWN children. Dare we not pay it forward?

I can't stand being lost. Can you? Share Thee Compass.

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many"~ Mark 10:45

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ~Matthew 28:18-20

The Gardner

John 15: 1- 14 NIV
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
